1a)a red light source and a green light source shine on a white screen.?

what color will the screen be? i know its yellow but can you explain why i dont understand

B) if a blue object is placed in front of the screen, what color will it be? explain your answer.

This is additive color mixing. the interference pattern of the wavelengths of the two colors blend together to create yellow. You get yellow on your television or computer monitor the same way. If you look at an area of yellow you will see that only the red and green dots are illuminated; the blue ones are dark. Red, green and blue all at 100% result in white. Green and blue yields cyan, and red and blue gives magenta. If the red, green, and blue are all at 0% you have black. This only works with transmitted light. If you print the colors on paper you have subtractive color mixing and get totally different results. The blending of colored light is called RGB color (Red, Green, Blue), and the optical mixing of printing colors is called CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and blacK.

If you shine green and red light on a blue object it will appear black, because there is no blue in the transmitted light to be reflected back.. You have to use pure color for this. Rotate the hue slightly and the situation changes.

I do computer animation and mess with this stuff all the time.
