Where can I get some “jet propulsion” to speed up my energy?

I visited the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and was privileged to meet Astronaut Jon McBride! He had one mission where he flew around the earth about 26 times in a short period.

My question is where can I get some jet propulsion in my body to speed clean my house? He can travel faster around the world once and I can’t get a room clean in the same period of time. Any ideas?

Make like the Fly Lady & do one task for 15 min. It could be cleaning the top of a counter, or it could be picking up all the clutter throughout the house 15 min. before bedtime. (New rule…no exceptions. If one is sick, the other does it.) (Be sure all mugs are carried to the kitchen, all newspapers folded neatly or put in the recycle bin, & so on.)

Or it could be a variation of the “inviting guests” idea. Pretend someone from out of town called & is at a nearby coffee shop or perhaps 60 miles away & wants to drop by to see you. Which things would you do?

Other ideas: Do all of the above, but at least once a week, follow the idea of a Zen Buddhist article that I read. That is, clean one item, toaster, whatever, & clean it as thoroughly as you can to make it as close to new as you can. You’re supposed to think of all the spiritual aspects as well in appreciating the toaster, the texture, its state of returning to as new as possible, whatever thoughts or state of silent calm will work for you (without really roaming too far from your own religion).

Form other good habits like getting out of bed carefully in the morning so it’s easier to make before even going to the kitchen & tidying up before you leave. That way, you’ll know that if you run into friends, you can go ahead & invite them over, knowing the bed has been made, the bathroom towels placed neatly over the towel racks or curtain rod, & breakfast dishes at least carried to the sink or dishwasher. And of course last night’s dishes were done last night. Right? (ha, ha)

Lotsa luck. I used to do all this back in the days when I was still dating. (Oh, no! There’s the answer. It’s the magic “jet propulsion.”
Ah, well, you & your husband can play a little “let’s pretend” you’re a new boyfriend/girlfriend coming over tonight for a little tea & for each to check out the other’s potential as a housemate. There you have it!
